Scholarship Grants for Families of Military Personnel
There are many scholarship giving bodies that's been created to aid the education of the families of military people. Some of these are as follows:
Military Spouse & Family Educational Assistance Programs--The Armed Forces and other relief associations associated to it offer educational assistance to military spouse and dependents which varies from service to service (army family, air force family, navy family, marines family, coast guard family)
Scholarships for Military Children program--created to honor the families of the military's contributions to the readiness of the regiments and celebrate the function of the commissary to the society. To qualify for this grant, a child's father or mother should be an active/reserved/retired member of the force, or a survivor of a deceased member. The applicant should have a military dependent ID and plans to attend a college or a university on a full-time basis.
Vice Admiral E.P. Travers Loan/Scholarship Program--applicable to all dependent sons/daughters of active on duty or retired Navy and Marine Corps personnel. Also, spouses of active duty Navy and Marine Corps are welcome to apply.
USS Tennessee Scholarship Fund--provides financial aid to dependent children of service members (past & present) of USS Tennessee. It offers up to $2000 per year per child.
Spouse Tuition Aid Program (STAP) (Overseas only)-- a need based scholarship program for spouses of active duty members who are stationed outside the US and residing with them abroad.
General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant --also a need based program, it offers a $2000 grant selected children of active duty, retired, retired reserved and deceased Air Force members.
Colonel Hazel Elizabeth Benn U.S.M.C. Scholarship- offers a $2000 scholarship to dependent (unmarried) children of enlisted medical personnel (past & present) assigned to the US Marine Corps.
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Education Program--grants scholarships to spouses, and unmarried children under 23 years of age of active duty, retired, reserve and other civilian employees of the US Coast Guard.
National Military Family Association Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship Program--a grant awarded to spouses of Uniformed Services members (active, reserve, retired and survivors) which will enable them to have professional certifications or attend a post secondary school/graduate school.
NCOA Scholarship Fund-funded by members of the Non-commissioned Officers Association. Each year, scholarships are awarded to selected spouses and children of NCOA members. Grants are non-repayable and can be renewed up to three years after it was granted.
