College Scholarships for Hispanics

The Hispanic population is growing at 4 times the rate Americans do. They now considerably outnumbered the African-Americans in the USA making them the largest US Minority group. As the end of every semester looms, thousands of Hispanic students who wants to earn a college degree but don’t have the means to do so are in a frantic rush to find a suitable scholarship program to help them out. Outlined below are some organizations that offer scholarships to Hispanic people: The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute--was established in 1978 by members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus who are dedicated in rearing the future generations of Hispanic leaders. The organization awards premier scholarships to Latino Students who's established a clean record of participating in public service activities and one who would like to continue on doing so in the future. The scholarship committee doesn’t have any GPA or any major requirements. If chosen, scholars will be awarded a one-time scholarship amount of $5000 for those attending a graduate-level institution, $2000 for those who will attend a 4-year learning institution and lastly $1000 for scholars who will enroll in a community college. Hispanic Scholarship Fund (NHSF) provides scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. The main purpose of the organization is to advance the higher education of Hispanics ultimately leading to the improvement of the quality of lives of Hispanic communities. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the US who have Hispanic heritage and who plans to attend a college either in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands in the upcoming academic year. LULAC National Scholarship Fund (League of United Latin Americans Citizens) - a program cosponsored by LULAC councils who regularly raise scholarship money by themselves, then whatever amount they come up with will be matched nationally by sponsoring corporations. LATIN AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (LAEF) The Latin American Educational Foundation was established in 1949. It seeks to provide partial scholarships (partial financing) for Hispanics who wants to advance academically. LOS PADRES FOUNDATION-- Los Padres is a nonprofit organization that provides college tuition support, mentoring, and part-time jobs to Hispanic students. Hispanic College Fund-- aims to develop the future generations of Hispanic business leaders by giving deserving Hispanic students scholarships and better access to education to properly equip them before facing the real world of business. The Ronald McDonald House of Charities --gears to send academically gifted but financially in-need Hispanic students to college schools by endowing scholarships to selected recipients.
